At the end of September 2019, the Department of Labor (DOL) issued a Final Rule on the threshold for employees to qualify for the “white-collar” exemptions from overtime pay. This rule affects more than 1.3 million workers who are currently ineligible to collect overtime pay. The federal overtime provisions are contained in the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
